Diamonds are indeed, forever. The Wittelsbach is an extremely rare 35.56 carat fancy deep grayish blue diamond with VS2 clarity. It was taken to Europe from the Galconda Mines in India in the 17th century and has been part of both the Austrian and the Bavarian Crown jewels. Late this month, it will go on view alongside the legendary Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian. I need to plan a trip to Washington, DC to meet this beauty.
